1966: Introducing Iggy


In these pictures, Jimmy Osterberg Jr., yet to become Iggy Pop, is a drummer, rather than a front-man. provided rhythm for an outfit called The Iguanas — hence his stage-name. The following year, Iggy moved from drums to vocals and formed seminal proto-punks The Stooges. He was credited on his first record as “Iggy Stooge.”
